2009 Winter
Its hard to believe another year is winding down. I know this has been one of the toughest years that we’ve had to deal with and hope everyone was able to tough it out. Lets hope next season will be better for all.
It won’t be long before the sport shows will be starting. Janice still needs Captains willing to donate charters and members to donate their time helping us out at the booth. Remember that all money we collect at these shows go into our scholarship fund. If you want to donate a charter or would like to help out at the shows please call Janice or Ken Deaton. 810-542-0426
I would like to thank Jim Fenner and Larry Lienczewski for taking time out of their schedule back in July to visit the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids to make sure everything was set for our Fall Annual Meeting. I saw many familiar faces and a lot of new ones that I hadthe pleasure of meeting, and I would like to personally thank all of you that were able to attend.
During our Board meeting we discussed sending out a survey to the membership. We are looking for ways to increase attendance at our Annual Meetings. You shouldhave received it by now and I hope everyone has taken the time to fill it out.
I have received a few phone calls from Captains still receiving letters from NACO saying that they will NOT be able to receive a discount on their boat insurance if they’re not members of NACO. THIS IS NOT TRUE! MCBA members have always received a special rate from Charter Lakes Insurance. I spoke with Dan Longman and explained the phone calls I have been receiving and he assures me that MCBA members will continue getting the special rate whether they are or are not members of NACO.
“I wish everyone a Safe and Happy Holiday Season”
