2010 Spring

Captain Rich

As of this writing we have finished two of our shows and one to go in Grand Rapids, March 18-21. The boat dealers have been very pleased with the sales this year compared to last year, and the attendance at the shows has been steady. Lets hope this is a good outlook for our charters this year. If you get a chance to be in the Grand Rapids area during the show, stop by and see us. We had our booth redone and are very happy with the results.

I have been receiving phone calls from some of our members complaining about Captains who are advertising their business in Ports that they are NOT fishing out of.  As a reminder, YOU MUST fish out of your secondary ports in order to list it on the web. If  you have not been on the web lately you might want to do so. We have recently made changes to the order of our listings. In order to be fair to all members we are now having the names scroll when someone clicks on the site. This will allow everyone to be on top and on the bottom.

FYI: I would just like to remind our members that if you trailer your boat to other ports you

will need to have USDOT Numbers on your vehicle. If you haven’t done this yet I would like to suggest that you visit one of the MDOT centers and pick up a copy of the “Truck Drivers Guide Book” You can apply for the USDOT numbers online and can download all forms needed.

I hope this information will help you prepare for the up-coming season.
