Charter Fishing Reporting Program

Captains,

Over the next week you are going to be receiving correspondence from the DNR regarding changes to the Charter Fishing Reporting Program. The DNR is doing away with paper reporting all together and going 100% digital. This is of great concern to MCBA. This unilateral decision by the DNR to require all online reporting violates both the spirit and fact of the Charter Boat Act. Attached please see the letters over the last few weeks. Many of our captains have limited internet bandwidth during fishing season. I want you to know that MCBA will continue to put pressure on the DNR to create some exemptions.
