While many groups received positive news last week about the legislature reaching a supplemental budget for certain line items, Pure Michigan did not.

Currently, Pure Michigan funding has been completely cut from the budget for the 2019-2020 fiscal year.

This represents $37.5 million dollars for tourism promotion for our state.

This nationally recognized award-winning program began in 2006 and is responsible for $1 billion in sales for the hospitality and tourism industry.

The golf industry in Michigan now has a $4.2 billion economic impact and represents over 60,000 jobs. Without the continued funding of the Pure Michigan promotional program, this economic status will falter and employment will fall.

The veto of the Pure Michigan funding directly impacts the golf industry, your golf course, and tourism across our state. Please contact Governor Whitmer and her administration today and urge her to work with legislators to create a supplemental budget to continue funding Pure Michigan.
