Sport Shows Wrap Up – Rich Haslett

2023 Sport Shows, by Captain Richard Haslett

Due to Covid we missed nearly three years doing the sport shows. I’m happy to report that we were able to attend the 2023 shows and hearing all the welcome back comments from ShowSpan and vendors made us aware how much we were missed. I’m also happy to report that we had one of the best shows since keeping records. I guess it shows that people were ready to get out of the house and to get back to a normal life.

I want to personally thank the following captains for donating a free charter to our show winners: Capt. John Giszczak (Stray Cat Charters), Capt. Matt Pressnell (Huskie Muskie Charters), Capt. Henry Walters (Sportsmen’s Charters), Capt. Scott Anderson (Far-Fetched Charters), Capt. George Freeman (Free Style Charters), Capt. Jim LaBeske (Hook & Heuver Charters.

I also want to thank the follow members that helped us in the MCBA booth this year during the first show: Capt. Bill & Barbie Stephenson, Capt. Matt Pressnell & First Mate, Capt. Henry & Marianna Walters. Three workers deserve a special heartwarming thank you from me and my wife Linda. Capt. Henry & Marianna Walters for working the first two shows and Capt. Kevin Roberts for working the Grand Rapids show. These three members have worked with us year after year. They’ve learned how to made our job easier and enjoyable when we get busy running the simulator.

We are planning on doing the shows again in 2024 but as we all know, things can change. If you want to donate a charterfor the 2024 season, please e-mail me at: taloncharters@gmail.com so I can add you to my list. Remember, your brochures will be displayed at all shows and you will be reimbursed $200 for fuel once the free trip is run. Please note: Only Captains
donating a trip can display their brochures, and workers can display their brochures during the time they work the booth.

I hope everyone has a great 2023 season!
